Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of CraftedBio (“CraftedBio,” “we,” “us”), a service that helps you build a personal website from your résumé and bio content. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use CraftedBio.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the European Economic Area) to use CraftedBio. By signing up, you confirm you meet the age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

2. Your account

You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for everything that happens under your account. If you sign in with a third-party provider (e.g., Google), the provider’s own terms also apply to your authentication. Notify us promptly at hello@craftedbio.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Publish content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
• Upload malware, scrape the service, or attempt to disrupt or overwhelm it.
• Use CraftedBio to send spam or unsolicited communications.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our source code, prompts, or models.
• Resell, sublicense, or white-label the service without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice depending on severity.

4. Your content

You retain all rights to the content you create, upload, or import on CraftedBio (“Your Content”). By using the service you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute Your Content solely as needed to operate CraftedBio — for example, to render your public bio at the URL you choose, to process it with our AI when you ask us to, and to back it up.

You represent that you have all rights necessary to upload Your Content and that publishing it on CraftedBio doesn’t violate anyone else’s rights.

5. Public profiles

CraftedBio is designed to publish your bio at a public URL (e.g., craftedbio.com/yourname). Anything in a section marked visible is accessible to anyone with the link and can be indexed by search engines. Don’t put anything on a visible section you wouldn’t want strangers to see. You can hide sections or delete content at any time from the dashboard.

6. AI-generated content

CraftedBio uses AI (currently Google Gemini) to help draft, polish, and reorganize your bio. AI output can be inaccurate, outdated, or wrong. You are responsible for reviewing everything before publishingand for ensuring your bio accurately represents you. We don’t guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of AI-generated text for any particular purpose.

7. Our intellectual property

The CraftedBio name, logo, software, design, and website are owned by us and protected by applicable IP laws. These Terms don’t grant you any right to use our trademarks except as needed to link to or identify your CraftedBio bio.

8. Fees and plans

The Starter plan is free. Paid plans, when available, are described on our pricing page. By upgrading you agree to the applicable fees, which we may change with reasonable advance notice. Paid plans renew automatically unless you cancel before the next renewal date. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time by emailing hello@craftedbio.com. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. On termination, your public bio is taken offline and Your Content is deleted according to the retention practices described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

CraftedBio is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that Your Content will be preserved without loss.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CraftedBio and its officers, employees, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to these Terms will not exceed the greater of $50 USD or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold CraftedBio harmless from any claim, demand, or damages arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual-property right.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, USA, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you by email or via a notice in the app before they take effect. Your continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
